In the Pacific sky the jet planes seem to fly in the formation of a compass that only points to you No matter what the distance hours don't mean coincidence they're just reminders that love doesn't always fit between the lines With no hesitation pack your bags and see the places that were only pinpoints on a map yesterday take time and recognize the wonder that surrounds you there's fragments of eternity in everything you see The time is now we're not getting any younger just a little closer to the ground If gravity releases, then here's what we'll do we'll take an adventure to the moon So for now I leave with you my humblest of goodbyes pretend like it's a flower in the color of your eyes Take care and don't forget me I'll try my best to write you every day maybe when Spring comes again, I'll meet you halfway.

Firefight 02:56
Step into the firefight where all the lines in the sand are washed away (washed away) the greatest weapon that you have here is penitence of words (if you only heard) Tighten up the hatches now there's no time to be afraid all the worries that you have they belong to yesterday inhibitions make the white seem a little grey sometimes the best thing to do it look the other way There's a war being fought for your piece of mind all the armies of the enemy see your heart as the prize but they know you control the battle field so all that they're waiting for is for you to pick a side The casualties are growing steadily you might have to retreat someone has to lose it all and accept defeat (accept defeat)

Sometimes we seem to be blown away catching the breeze in the wrong direction but no matter the destination we're glad to be free here in our hot air balloon Grab a handful of the sunburst in the clouds photograph this beauty surrounding us that goes on and on and on it's heaven in our midst here in our hot air balloon Settle down in the moment let all your dreams for the future resurface how many chances have to make it before you can afford it celebrate life in the boldest of ways celebrate life in the boldest of ways Seasons change but the journey remains sky blue to the end although Summer looks the best on you with the wind in your hair here in our hot air balloon Some people think we're crazy and maybe they're right but where's the use in living gently when we all end up looking to the sky eventually Now that we've touched down and our time's come to an end hold tight to the memories and never forget it's almost like a dream oh, so sweet there in our hot air balloon there in our hot air balloon there in our hot air balloon...

What would you say what would you do if wasting time could reignite something you'd lost to hold it again a love to create what's not been done Colorful musings were always your thing countless arrangements of all that was interesting intricate lines in the world intersect you're bound to find art in the obvious How many puzzle pieces go missing before completion is there room for mistake if the chalk dust on the stars seem to call out your name the how could you do anything else than create Actively take the road with no signs plot your own course leave worry behind marvel at mystery question yourself is this truly all that's left Look for the beauty in the sunset remember the moments you often forget live for the light it's not to late let go of yourself and don't be afraid

Human 03:02
Is anybody out there anyone at all darkness surrounds me and the only light I have is a memory time tells by the seconds and it never seems to stop but if I only have this moment I don't wanna be anything less than human all this time and space has gone to my head loneliness has spoken and it's words are like the sun it's a solar reminder that life isn't meant to be lived alone Was any of it my fault could it have been stopped if only we could have seen the signs then maybe I could have a chance to reconcile my wrongs everybody's got their secrets but mine are safe with the moon and if I only have this moment Only ashes remain to tell the story atmospheric tombstones glow in the night hold the sunrise in your mind don't lose sight of daylight
6.
Hey there how are you doing I like the dress you wear it reminds me of a summer suit that I once had the polkadots fit you nicely they almost seem to say carry on, I hope you have a wonderful day If the world turned a little slower then would you take a chance on me c'mon now Oh, my darlin', oh, my dear even in darkness it has never been so clear I just wanna be with you even for a day How is the weather where you're from does sunshine come your way I bet it follows you around wherever you go what color flower's your favorite re, purple, pink, or blue no matter whatcha say mine's that one too
7.
If all the diamonds in the world lost their shine would any girls still wear them on their fingers? if all the polar ice caps melted would penguins enjoy their bigger pools? I bet they would If old Benjamin Franklin were alive today would he have an Android or an iPhone? If politics were like a trading card game would the world have a little more fun? Some people insist on crashing parties they're stuck in their ways but if they came together in a room with some helium I'll try not to laugh when I hear them say "Young man, you're rather silly you've got your life ahead of you pick yourself a university and get yourself a PhD instead of writing songs and poetry move along and find a girl or die alone just get the hell outta here" If machine guns shot bananas would monkey soldiers go to war? If motorcycles sounded like toy cars would biker gangs still be a thing? If you wore an anaconda as a scarf would you be a lunatic or the cover of GQ? If the world's supply of gummy bears took over would you be an assassin or a cannibal? If tranquilizer darts were filled with caffeine would espresso shots be a bit too punny? If procrastination ceased to exist would I still be late and have to hurry?

about

This album is the result of a songwriting challenge that I completed in November of 2013 called Seven in Seven. The idea is to write a song every day, for an entire week. From start to finish. Completely from scratch. Written and recorded.

Creativity is often thought as something that's purely inspiration-driven, requiring some sort of encounter with genius (or madness) to achieve one's fullest potential as an artist. But the fact of the matter is that as much as musicians fantasize about such encounters, the real magic is made by simply creating.
And creating.
And creating.
And creating until you can barely lift your fatigued, calloused fingers to type the word "creating" even one more time.

This is what this challenge is all about.

Needless to say, I've really pushed myself to complete it. A lot of who I am is embodied by these songs. It's one of my greatest accomplishments as a musician. I really didn't intend to even make the songs that I wrote download-able, but after so much unforeseen positive feedback, I've decided to put them up for you to do as you wish!

They're not professionally recorded -- just a man and his guitar. One take. No editing whatsoever. But nonetheless, I hope you enjoy them. Thanks so much for your time!

Oh, and by the way... they're free. (But if by some goodness in your heart, you'd like to send a bit of change my way so that I can keep making music, it'd truly be a blessing.)
